As a host — how do I get started?
Click Get It On Your TV to create your event. You'll get a dedicated phone number and a link to put on your TV.
How do I display text2tv on my TV?
Once you're signed in, copy your text2tv event url from your host account. Then choose how to show it:
How many TVs can I display text2tv on?
You can display your text2tv event on as many TVs and displays as you wish. Bonus: they all will stay in sync throughout your party.
Can I change my event after it's created?
Change anything about your event, anytime. Hosts can log into their text2tv accounts to rename the event, swap theme colors, update your greeting message, change AI caption personalities, or moderate photos.
Can I stock my text2tv event with photos before my event?
Yes — text as many photos as you'd like in the days before your event starts. Send test photos and delete them. The world is your oyster.
Can I moderate the photos my guests send?
Yes — hosts can see every photo their guests send in their text2tv account. Hide or delete individual photos. Your guests never see your moderation happen.
What are AI captions?
AI personalities help guests create funny captions for their photos. Hosts can pick the AI personalities that match the vibe of their event — roast, wine mom, dad jokes and many more. Optional — AI personalities can be turned off for any event.
Can I test text2tv on my TV before I buy?
Yes — open the text2tv url from Mitten's epic retirement party in a browser on your Smart TV, Firestick, Chromecast, DakBoard, or PC using the instructions above. If you can see the photos sent by Mitten's friends — text2tv will work on your TV.
You're in full control
Your host account lets you view, hide, or delete anything on your TV — photos, guest names, captions. Pick from preset TV themes, customize the greeting message, and more.
Texting your TV
Texting text2tv Party is simple — just text the number on the TV. If you can text, you can use it.
Text a photo
Your photo will appear on the TV. Add a caption in the same text and it shows up too.
Text a wish (optional)
Text anything to the number — “Happy birthday, Donut!”, a memory, a toast. It'll appear on the TV. Note: not all hosts have this feature turned on.
AI captions
Not sure what to write? Text the photo without a caption and text2tv will reply with a few AI-generated options — reply with the number to pick your favorite. Note: not all hosts have this feature turned on.
Change your name
Text NAME: <your new name> — that's the name that shows up next to your photo on the TV.
Like a photo
Text LIKE, HEART, or an emoji 👍 ❤️ 😊 to show love for whatever's on screen right now.
Access the photo gallery
After the party, you can view and download every photo shared at the event. The host will text or post the gallery link when it's ready — or scan the QR on the TV.
text2tv is an interactive SMS service. You opt in by texting the number on screen.
